You know, I have given up on on expensive boots. I would like to try a pair of these. The last couple pairs of good boots I got were impossible to break in and feel comfy. I replaced my beloved Vasque Sundowners that lasted me for years with one of the last pairs to come from Italy before they went to Chinese production. I think the damn leather is getting stiffer! I also tried some Redwings, my right heel ached in them. I traded them to my little bro for an Ipod. I am now wearing some $30 no name hikers from Kohls and they fit and feel perfect.

i used to run sundowners, but when they changed the soles and started making them in china the quality went to shit. I have 2 pairs of danner mountain lights, that are the most comfortable hiking boots i have ever worn. They break in quick, and wear like a glove. I have been checking out the 1000 mile boot, they are expensive but if they would last, i would fork it over. Does anyone own a pair?

I've got the pair pictured above. I've had them for a few months and absolutely love them. This particular model has the leather sole, so know that that style won't work well if you need a rubber sole (oily floors, extreme traction). They're the most comfortable boots I've ever had.
I highly recommend them. I ordered mine through the Luther's store and am considering another pair to wear as my "dress shoes". |

Bought a pair of 1000 Miles on based on the site review.
About turned into a 'unicorn hunt', even though the things are made near where I live in Detroit. Was able to find a pair in LA on a recent business trip. Very impressed. |
