Everyone is jumping on the vintage/retro bandwagon these days. Even Casio has jumped in the game with this new digital. I dig it, but wonder about the quality given the price point.
I spent my summer restoring an old house on an island in the pacific. As such, I had a constant EDC… And this is it…
Pioneer Matter BiFold. These things are really popular right now and I can see why… The design is fantastic in that this wallet can carry a ton of cards without getting bulky. Plus, it can carry a tad of cash as well. The ripstop material is very thin and feels incredible, but I wonder how durable it will be. So far, so good.
Titatnium Folding Blade. I prefer utility blades over knives… and have fallen in love with these cheap Chinese folders.
Sinn U1. The U1 is too big and bulky to be a daily watch in my opinion, but I was on an island and planned to do a lot of diving. As such, the U1 got the call… It’s my favorite dive watch in the world and it did fine out of the water as well.
I don’t know much about Tracksmith and have never heard of Eric Wind… But the two have “collaborated” on the release of a bunch of vintage stop watches and they are dope as hell.
Nomad makes what is probably the best Apple Watch band on the market. Not only is it light (cuz, titanium), but it’s also comfortable as unlike many other apple bracelets, it does not pinch the hairs off your wrist. Only negative? It’s expensive…
BUT, you can now get a pretty decent discount using the code SUMMER30 at checkout. If you are a power user, there is value here.
Covet a Rolex Milsub, but can’t rationalize the coin? Enter the Vaer D5 – a sort of homage to the mil spec Rolex that is assembled in the USA with good materials and a Miyota 9039 movement. Best part? It only runs $550… Plus, they are offering a 10% discount today.
Seiko just released two new watches in their Prospex line – one from 1965 and the other from 1970. Both kick serious ass. No brainer if you need an EDC watch.
It’s a dive computer that doubles as a smart watch… And really, it’s probably the first complete dive computer that you can wear out of the water and not look like a total weirdo. In fact, it’s actually pretty rad looking… AND, it’s available in a 43mm size – certainly larger than I care to wear everyday, but not so large I couldn’t manage it.
This is a collaboration between Zodiac and aBlogToWatch. It’s based on the Super Sea Wolf, so it’s perfectly sized and features a decent Swiss movement. But most obviously, it has a really dope Caribbean inspired color way. I dig it.
