Need a lighter for when the shit hits the fan? Apparently, you’re looking for the Delta Windmill lighter. It’s got some crazy “catalyzer” coil and “piezoelectric” ignition system that ensures this baby lights even when the wind gusts reach 80mph. No foolin… You can get yours for $55.
Triple Threat Tactical is ran by a guy named Jim Rosario… and that’s about all I know about the bag featured below. Jim posts occasionally on some of the more covert forums covering tactical gear and is known to be a pretty talented guy, but his site is under construction and the rest of the business is pretty much shrouded in mystery. Word on the street is that the “High-Speed, Low-Drag” bag will sell for around $499. Expensive? Yes. Cool? Yes.
Bill is a craftsman. He creates a line of very high quality cases for both knives and watches. Each has received rave reviews all over the internet. More recently, however, Bill has been busy developing and producing something he likes to call “Bill’s Urban Wallet.”
When I presented the brand spanking new gearjournal.com to a doctor pal of mine, he mentioned that he knew someone with a product worth reviewing. “A friend of mine is producing this super trick water bottle that not only houses all kinds of technological accomplishments, but is incredibly health conscious as well,” he said. A water bottle with tech and health features? I wasn’t sure what he meant, but contacted the company and had one sent out to me for review anyway.
A buddy of mine recently scored this bag and while it’s a bit pricy ($285) and certainly a little more “hip” than I like my bags to be, there is no denying the fact that it is versatile and extremely well made. If you need a bag that is a bit less tactical and a little more professional looking, but still has a lot of storage options this one might be a good choice.
I don’t have one of these in hand to review, but stumbled across someone that did recently and had to post a link. T.A.D. Gear is one of those companies that has more than customers, they have fans. And it’s that way for a reason – they make GREAT products.
Another day, another watch… This time, I thought I would review one of my latest – The LUM-TECH Combat B1. The B1 is a military inspired piece with a 17-jewel mechanical movement. It features a bead blasted PVD case that measures 43mm excluding the crown and the absolutely incredible LUM-TECH SuperLum. It’s built like I like my watches to be built – like a tank.
This isn’t necessarily on-topic to the journal, but I ran into a guy last week with an incredibly inventive mind. It was one of those “small world” stories where he knew one of my pals and that sparked a conversation. Eventually that lead to the brand new Gear Journal and he popped this “WiseCracker” thing out of his pocket thinking I would be interested.
I was.
