GORUCK Camera Bag

So, I’ve been asked about this bag more than any other I own. Essentially, it’s a GORUCK Kaidan Bullet in 15L that I’ve outfitted to become my main camera bag. Here’s a short list of the details:

Dan Matsuda Pouch (attached to front Molle)
Vanquest Hyrda (Tripod pouch)
AER Slim Pouch (Lens accessories and cleaning)
GORUCK mini wire dopp (Tech)

Anyway, this is by far and away the best Camera Backpack I’ve ever used. I still use slings when I need to be more mobile, but if I’m on location this is the bag I take. To me, it’s all about flexibility and no one does big open spaces (ripe for self organization) like GORUCK. Highly recommended.

I don’t typically like to feature James Brand products. I love their design work, but feel as though their products don’t live up to their respective prices. If they focused production in the USA, I’d be all in… But, they don’t.

All that being said, the Ellis is a fantastic design. A small EDC blade with scissors – that’s all a guy really needs, right?

Naked & Famous Blue Bird Selvedge

The raw denim world is a weird one. Folks are so dedicated to breaking their jeans in with perfect fades that they will substitute cleanliness with STANK – never washing their denim. Different strokes for different folks I guess…

Naked & Famous is one of the more well known brands amongst these people. And recently, they’ve released a new light weight (9.5oz) raw denim jean that at least feels broken in from day one. The fades should come quicker too – whether you decide to wash them or not.

The Expedition Parka

It’s cold as shit here today… So, I figured this was appropriate.

You know when you watch those Nat Geo shows and all those scientists are studying the life cycle of Polar Bears, how humans are screwing it all up, and it just looks cold as hell? Seems like they always wear gigantic boots, black pants, and a red a parka.

This is THAT parka… Apparently, it’s the warmest in the world and I sure could use one right now.
